WHAT DOES THE DAY INVOLVE?

During this day long workshop you will learn the techniques required to create your very own four claw wire basket setting suitable for claw setting brilliant cut stones.

Stephen will guide you through the processes and steps, which you will then put into practice. You will look at traditional soldering techniques when using fine wire, as well as talking about considerations for setting.

Wire basket settings can be used as either pendants, ear studs, or in rings as mount. During the class we will look at the different considerations for alternative uses and applications.

Please note, this course focuses upon wire collet/basket making, the setting aspect is achieved on additional courses as there is a lot to cover in one session. Mount making and setting are two separate aspects to cover.
